Selina Elizabeth Cooksey

Female, b. 10 May 1886
Selina Elizabeth Cooksey, daughter of George Philip Cooksey, was born on 10 May 1886.1,2 A few days before her fourth birthday a National School Board Admissions Register shows that she was admitted to St Mary's School, Battersea, London, on 6 May 18901 but only two weeks later the Register shows her as leaving the school on 20 May 1890. Her address was given as 12 Goulden Street, Battersea, London.1

By 1891, and not quite five years old, Selina was no longer even living in Battersea and is shown in the census return as being a visitor in the home of Arthur Windsor and his wife Julia at 44 Carlisle Road, Portsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire.3 It is likely that she was brought up by her grandmother, also named Selina, who it appears always lived in the Portsmouth area.

Perhaps Arthur and Julia Windsor were known to Selina's grandmother Selina Biggs whom it appears always lived in the Portsmouth area.
