Richard Mead

Richard Mead, son of George Mead and Mary Goodwin, was born circa 1709 and was baptized on 27 October 1709 at St Mary Magdalene, Great Burstead, Essex.1
Richard was named as a beneficiary in the will of his father George Mead written on 23 September 1722. He was bequeathed a parcel of land called Flanders of about 150 acres, including a barn, next to the road from Maldon to Fambridge (east of Great Burstead) in the occupation of Mr Thomas Finch, from which proceeds Richard was to pay his mother £10 per year for the rest of her life. Richard's elder brother George was to administer the property until Richard reached the age of twenty one.2
