Assuming that Mary was about twentyone at the time of the birth of her first son, then she would have been born about 1652; it may of course have been somewhat earlier. The assumption is also made that George and Mary were recently married. - [S91] Parish Registers of Sawbridgeworth, 1654 to 1712.
It would seem likely that George Mead married twice - the best interpretation of the available information. By Mary, George had children George, Richard and Mary. The mother's name is not mentioned for the baptism of the last two but it would seem likely that the daughter was named after her mother. No other baptisms are recorded for children of George until 1686 when the baptism of Ann is mentioned, daughter of George and Hannah. It is most probable that Mary died between 1677 (date of the baptism of daughter Mary) and 1686 (date of the baptism of Ann)
