Joseph Watts

Male, b. circa 1701, d. before 1763
     Joseph Watts, son of Joseph Watts and Mary Mead, was born circa 1701.1

Joseph witnessed the will of his uncle George Mead written on 23 September 1722.2

He was named as a beneficiary in the will of his step-grandmother Hannah written on 3 August 1728. The will stated, "I give to my Grandson Joseph Wats the Sum of one Pound one Shilling."3

Joseph Watts died before 1763. In that year he was mentioned in the will of of his cousin George Mead who referred to two freehold fields and a copyhold parcel of land in the manor of Blunts that had been willed to him by Joseph.4

    The will mentions, "... Mary my Daughter the Wife of Joseph Watts ...". As Mary's father's will was written on 17 October 1700 and Mary and James were married before this date, it is reasonable to assume that their son Joseph was born at about this time, but it could of course have been some years before or after.
