Martha Mead
Female, b. circa 1747, d. 14 January 1804
Martha Mead, daughter of Thomas Mead and Ann Flack, was born circa 1747 probably at Great Burstead, Essex,1 and was christened on 6 July 1747 at The Independent Chapel, Brentwood, Essex.2 Martha married James Clements on 17 November 1768 at St Mary Magdalene, Great Burstead, Essex.3,4
Martha was named as a beneficiary in the will of her father Thomas Mead written on 9 December 1793. She was bequeathed the sum of £10 plus an annuity of £5. On the death of her mother she would also receive a share of her father's plate, household goods, furniture and linen.5
Martha died on 14 January 1804 and was buried at The Independent Meeting House, Billericay, Essex, in the same grave as her sister Mary, who had died a year earlier, adjacent to the graves of their mother and father.1
